Rates: Base price R2500, then R625 per person after 2 persons. Half price for children between 2 and 18 and children under 2 stay for free. The house is capped at R5000/night and sleeps a maximum of 10 people.

Please Note: This is a self-catering facility but slow cooking recipes will be available as well as all the ingredients. Please arrange in advance. There will also be frozen meals available upon request. There is an additional gas-stove/electric oven.

Braai area: Wood and charcoal is provided. More wood is available upon request.

Lights: The switch for the outside floodlights is located in the main bedroom (North facing) behind the door. Insects might be a problem at certain times of the year. Close all the doors and windows at dusk.

Refreshments: This is based on an honesty system. Please see pricelist and please record what is consumed.

Air conditioner: The central cooling system works on the bases of air being blown over water evaporating. The cooled air is then pumped via vents into the house. The switch is located where the two bedroom corridors meet (on the right when you exit the living room toward the corridor to the bedrooms). To switch it on follow these steps:

Press the snowflake/aircon button once. The letter ‘C’ should appear with a number between 1-100. The number is the speed of the fan. When the system is switched on, water has to be pumped to the cooling tower first. This process takes about 5 minutes and the fan will start running after sufficient water has filled the system. This process happens automatically after step one has been followed.
Set the speed with the up and down arrows. For power saving mode, the fan button should be pressed. The letter ‘C’ is going to change to the letter ‘F’. Only the fan will be working and there will be no water pumped over the radiator.

This farm operates entirely off the grid with no input from Eskom.

The house is equipped with solar panels and 15kw hour back-up batteries. During the day the electric oven can be used without a problem, but at night it should rather be switched off.

Warm water is produced by the gas geyser, which automatically switches on when a warm water tap is opened. The pressure booster pump needs to kick in for the gas geyser to function properly. You can test it by opening a warm water tap in the scullery and listen for the sound of the pump starting. The pressure pump is located under the two water tanks next to the braai area.

Back-up generator is located in one of the out buildings next to the house. To start it:

-pull the choke lever

-turn the key in the ignition clockwise

-press the soft button next to the key until it starts

-return choke lever to original position
